A Room in Bloom
"Digital Florists has made the business side of floristry so much easier to manage"
Lorna Stuart Trainor
Owner & Floral Designer, A Room in Bloom
A Room in Bloom is an award-winning floral studio in Athlone, Co. Westmeath, covering weddings, events, online orders, bouquets, funerals and workshops. Owner Lorna switched from Strelitzia and a pile of paper systems, looking for one system to cover both the retail side and the events side.

Q: Can you tell us about your business and the challenges you were facing before Digital Florists?
We were using Strelitzia and the back end of our website. It was never streamlined, lots of paper and double checking. I was tired of having to try and keep the admin in my head. We had endless scraps of paper with job lists and a whiteboard to track order make-up, and staff were not always using the old systems correctly.
Q: How were these challenges impacting your business?
It was time consuming for everyone, frustrating, and orders were missed. The double checking was exhausting.
Q: What were you hoping new software would do for you?
I wanted a one-stop software solution for retail orders and for weddings and events.
Q: What made you choose Digital Florists?
Saving time, the phone app, the delivery routing and the events side of the software. Also the task lists, and that unpaid orders stay on the home screen.
Q: Is there a clever way you use Digital Florists that other florists might not think of?
I can see where the driver is on the app. So when a customer rings asking about their delivery, I can tell them how long it will be there and then. I do not have to hang up, call the driver, and then call the customer back.
Q: How was the setup and switch-over?
Excellent, great support. The team took a little while to settle in, and now they love it.
Q: What results have you seen since switching?
Around 2 hours saved. Delivery routing is handled, no orders have been missed, and there is one system everyone can check in on rather than everything living in my head.
Q: What has changed for your customers?
Better service. We can answer delivery questions on the spot.
Q: In summary, how would you describe the impact of Digital Florists on your business?
Digital Florists has made the business side of floristry so much easier to manage. As a florist, I want to spend my time creating beautiful flowers and looking after my customers, not getting bogged down in administration. Digital Florists has helped bring so much more organisation to the day-to-day running of the business, particularly when things get busy with weddings and events.
